Creativity and Meditations

On Pause from Writing
(but not from Creativity & Meditation)

When the curtains fall...

The majority of my career was spent freelancing under a self-asserted pressure to »succeed«. Most adults develop tunnel vision for what our lives should be. So questioning our original goals and directions would be nonsense. We all gotta pay the bills, right?

My journey was a progressive development from a video editor, to a compositor, a motion designer / animator, a designer, a team leader, an art director, a director... onto this moment now. Throughout, I had enough ambition and willpower to pour my everything into both personal and client-based projects – so I could help others transform, while my artistry and experience could grow as a result. But I wasn’t moving towards anything. I was growing by standing still - without knowing what my own version of »success« meant.

Even though it took some time to find and understand my own version of »success«, I know now that freelancing doesn’t have a part in my story anymore. I don’t know yet where the journey will take me. I’m more than fine with that. Sometimes, stopping is enough. It’s an invitation to notice all other paths available. So for now, I’ll first let myself take a deep breath of relief in finally knowing: moving forward is my own version of success.

I’ll see you all in the future.
And in the next post.
